“Stay at Home” is a project created by FAR Architects to represent Lebanon on the occasion of the XXI Triennale di Milano, marking the country’s first time participating in the exhibition.

It takes as its premise the sharing economy and online platforms that have transformed the boundaries of the housing environment. The project critiques the ever-growing market of itinerant dwellings, envisioning a dystopian fictional future where all of one’s domestic space is entirely downsized. In order to maximize profit, the house is reduced to its basic amenity, the bed.

Physically pushed out of the perimeter walls and suspended in the air, the exterior attachable capsule can be fastened onto any window opening, engulfing the shape of the homeowner's body while sleeping. With its flexible fixation system, it transforms into a suitcase, allowing the user to transport it anywhere he goes.

As part of the XXI Triennale International Exhibition, a media competition was launched through the institution, to promote the work of young Italian filmmakers. Each selected filmmaker was paired to a country to create a movie inspired by the exhibitor’s project. With the coordination of FAR Architects, Alessandra Atzori and Massimo Ottoni created a short movie based on the project, which was awarded Best Creative Video by the official jury at the Triennale on June 2016.
